I Am

My name is Michele Kimbrough. I am a writer. Mostly, I write articles, blogs, booklets, and other materials related to health -- natural medicine and its benefits, specifically. I write about how natural medicine can help everyone achieve better health through safe, noninvasive therapies such as nutrition, managing stress, and meditation.

Where I Started
I graduated from Saint Mary’s College of California, earning my degree in Health Services Administration with the intention of becoming a hospital administrator. I went on to earn an MBA degree and worked as a nonprofit executive in various organizations. I have studied Nutrition, Oriental medicine, Acupuncture, Naturopathic medicine, Clinical Massage Therapy and Asian Bodywork.

My Personal Health Journey
I was a skinny girl who became a big girl who's now a healthy girl. I watched my weight spiral out of control over a 10-year period with unhealthy eating habits, a stressful lifestyle, and very little sleep. I had little motivation for exercise, my thinking was foggy, and I began to lose interest in the things that once excited me.

I decided to begin a journey toward optimal health. For me, the first step started with a hard look at the foods I consumed -- the unhealthy foods that fueled my body. I got my hands on sound nutritional information. I also started learning all I could about alternative and natural medicine. I became a juicing enthusiast and started a nutritional plan of eating unprocessed, whole foods. I soon became convinced that these natural approaches, which drew upon the body's own healing powers, held great potential for preventing disease and restoring health.

As a result of this endeavor, I changed my unhealthy lifestyle by improving my diet, taking vitamins and supplements, and increasing my activity level. While I am still shedding the pounds I gained, I am feeling healthier than I ever have in the past -- including when I was a skinny girl.
