We spend a lot of time making sure we and our families eat the right foods, exercise regularly, and have a little recreation time. We also spend a good portion of our lives simply working and commuting. Now add in kids and their schedules, getting older kids off to college, housekeeping, laundry, chauffeuring/carpooling, house/lawn upkeep, car maintenance, managing finances, and assisting elderly parents. Whew! That’s a lot to juggle ~ and it can increase our stress level. Since none of these things can be eliminated from our schedule, we figure out ways to make it all manageable. But the key here is to not just make it manageable, but to minimize the level of stress this balancing act creates. Denise Landers, founder and CEO of Key Organization Systems Inc. (KOS), is an author and keynote speaker who not only coaches in time management, she motivates people to make positive changes in organizing their workflow and balancing their lives. I met Denise several years ago and invited her to speak at a couple of my events. She demonstrated simple and easy methods to create balance in our lives. What a great prescription – managing time, organizing our space, and learning to maintain balance ~ I can’t think of a more Naturally Inspired way to create work/life balance. There are no contraindications, no pills to take, no quarantines. There is, however, one notable side effect -- less stress. Less stress equals fewer stress-related health problems. You get the picture.
